History:
Early years
The concept of Solidarity Nepal was developed by Mr. Rajendra Gautam in 2010 and leaded as a campaign but formally registered in February 15, 2012 mainly with the intention of working in the field of humanity regardless of race, color, creed, gender or political preference.
The solidarity Nepal’s headquarters resides in Kathmandu, with further main networks in Australia, Canada, Japan, UK and USA.
Founder
Mr. Rajendra Gautam is the CEO of Solidarity Group, Founder of Solidarity International, Founder of Solidarity Nepal and also the current SN president. He is persuading Bachelor in Business Administration (BBA) at Shanker Dev Campus in Kathmandu and completed Intermediate (A-Levels) in Management from Chelsea International Academy, Kathmandu in 2010. Mr. Gautam is a Young Social Activist and associated with different social welfare organizations in Nepal. He has published about a dozen of research articles in both national and international journals.
Mr. Gautam was awarded by dozens of organization with title “National Peace Prize 2013”, “Outstanding Secretary Award 2012-13”, “The Best International Youth Representative Award 2008”, “The Best Youth Leader of the Year 2009”, “Outstanding In-house Speaker of the Year Award 2010-11”, “President’s Special Recognition of the Year Award 2011-12” etc to honor his hard work.
As Founder and President of SN, He has traveled and lectured extensively.
From 2011
After having 1 year research in different part some energetic group of Professional and Young Community leaders came into action Together from national and international level with the Solidarity’s mottos “Together For Change”.
In 2011, Solidarity Nepal launched its first international project called “Mission Literacy” with the aim of providing education to the underprivileged children’s of Nepal in order to expand their knowledge and potential, and to participate fully in their community and wider society. Now this project is one of the biggest project of Solidarity Nepal.
In the short period of time Solidarity Nepal has helped many children’s in the remote districts of Nepal.
Recently, Environmental project “Mission Go-Green” has been launched in Nepal to work in the field of Environmental sector.
Besides above Solidarity Nepal is working with Health and Social Care, Community and Rural Development, and Special Area Project that includes Human Rights, Water Supply and Traffic Awareness.
Organization:
In order to hold out its service programs, Solidarity is structured in National and International level. The District Chapters and International networks are officially operated under the authorization of Solidarity Nepal (SN) headquarters in Kathmandu.
Solidarity Nepal, National Network:
The national network includes solidarity activity in Nepal. It can operate various projects in different districts of Nepal. Solidarity Nepal is governed by a Board of Directors composed of the President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Jt. Secretary and 2 Directors. The nomination and the election of each president is handled in the four year period before he takes office, and is based on requirements including geographical balance and previous service as a District Representative, Country Representative and board member of Solidarity Nepal. The board meets as per the convenient to establish policies and make recommendations to the overall governing bodies in national and international level. Solidarity Nepal is the governing body of District Chapter and International network.
The District Chapter is basic unit of Solidarity activity in Nepal to operate the service project. District Chapter determines its own membership and its operating activity. Each member meets as per the time expedient to discuss on humanity projects. Under the authorization of District Representative various service projects are carried out within its local community, and participate in unique projects involving other district inside Nepal, and occasionally an extraordinary project in another district. The leading body of all the movement in District is District Representative and his/her team. They are responsible for governing each and every activity of District Chapter. Each District Representative is nominated by the Board of Directors of Solidarity Nepal. The operating office enjoys significant independence within the framework of the standard constitution of Solidarity Nepal. The District Representative can appoint Project Director, Finance Director, and Several other officers as per the necessity.
Solidarity Nepal, International Network:
A Country Representative, who is an officer of Solidarity Nepal and represents the Solidarity Nepal board of directors in the field, leads his/her respective country. Each Country Representative is nominated by the Board of Directors of Solidarity Nepal (SN) headquarters in Kathmandu. The Country Representative can appoint Project Director, Finance Director and several other officers as per necessity to assist in the management of Solidarity activity and international projects.
